Childs Glacier Alaska

The rich grandeur and beauty at Alaska's Childs Glacier is spectacular! Witness it yourself on three unique DVDs that capture breathtaking ice calving events. An ice calving is simply to release a mass of ice that breaks away from the face of the glacier. Each 30-minute DVD was created from more than 300 hours of filming at the face of Childs Glacier.

Near Cordova, ALaskaLocated on the pristine Prince William Sound, in the spectacular state of Alaska, is the beautiful town of Cordova.

Cordova is a fishing village with a population of about 2,500 friendly people. In the summer Cordova's population increases, when fishermen and tourists arrive to fish the great Copper River salmon runs.

But there is something else that happens near Cordova every summer that is not as well known as those famous Copper River reds — the calving at Childs Glacier.
